Almost Lunchtime...

and I almost forgot to write! William is doing his best to get my Dr. Pepper and he won't win. Brian is going out to eat today at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch with his coworkers, the DBA team. Damn him lol! He's managed to eat all sorts of goodies I would die to be eating right now. So today he's going to go look at a community our realtor told us about. Sounds really nice, it's own school, shopping, etc. It also is close to the new train that runs to downtown Nashville. The houses are lovely houses. It has cape cod style and brick. It looks well set up. We live in a master planned community and it's not bad but it's certainly not great either. It's just a large, spread out, sloppy-planned community. The HOA here is a total joke. All they do is run around sending nasty grams about the yards and where you put your trash cans and that's it. All I ask for is a nice hood with good neighbors that respect each other. I want a place where my son feels safe walking or riding his bike to and from school. So he's supposed to msg me some pics via phone so I can see what it looks like, and I'm so excited about it! I hope both of our houses sell so that our finances will get back into a good state of being. One house to rule them all hehehe! Then we can build our dream home. Can't wait for that to happen. More to come later as I get to see pics.....

  1. One thing I DON'T miss about Houston are the HOA fees! What a joke! I don't even know what we paid for because the little park in our community was tiny and unkept and the pool was only opened for three months! Come on now, we live it Texas, not KY, it is warm enough to swim for more than three months out of the year. We would get letters all the time about our curb needed to be edged and once the trash can was visible. Then you would drive around and some peoples yards looked like that had never been mowed or even watered and they want to make a big deal because our curb wasn't edged. Once I even got a letter because I think I had backed into our drive way to unload groceries through the garage and I was REALLy close to the edge of the driveway (not the greatest at backing in) and they must have driven by that very day because we got a letter stating that we were parked on the grass and needed to move our vehicle! SERIOUSLY!!! I called and gave them a piece of my mind. I mean, it is MY grass and if I want to park in it I will (but who would because it would ruin your yard and sod cost a fortune). Anyway, HOA's suck and I am happy that for the time being we don't have to worry with paying one! :)

  2. I know! You pay a fortune to live in a nice neighborhood, and you get letters for measly stuff! We just moved into our house and we got sent a letter that our yard needed to have sod put down because the grass had died around the tree. I'll have to go take a pic and show you what I mean, though it does look better than when we moved in. I called them up and told them off about how we just bought the house and we couldn't help how they left the yard. Then when I walked around and saw how much worse other people's yards were I couldn't believe they were griping on ours! We are only planning on staying in the next house for about 5 years, enough to pay off the cars, debt, and have money saved up, then we are going to build outside of Nashville in the country. No HOA, no neighbors within reaching distance. Then I can do what I want and mow my gras when I want, etc. Which I usually mow my own grass and I am not rabid but we take care of it just fine :)
